Rigidizer is applied to the surface of a ceramic fiber blanket, or other high temperature ceramic fiber insulations by spraying or brushing. After air-drying, rigidizer firms-up the refractory ceramic fiber, giving it tougher, more abrasion resistant characteristics. It is normally applied after the ceramic fiber is installed.

Rigidizer is shipped in 5-gallon plastic drums. One gallon of rigidizer covers approximately 50 square feet brushed or 100 square feet when sprayed.
